ART MADE RICH

Adapt, Overcome, & Paint

As most, this year shook me up professionally. Having to work around Covid has caused most of us to get rather creative in our professions. For a while I was shut down from being able to tattoo which is my bread and butter. This could have went two ways from here, I could have hit the panic button, or I could adapt and make some beautiful lemonade with these sickly lemons.

For a while I wanted to work myself up to paint more and take commissioned work. This was the time to shine. Since April I’ve done a few commissioned paintings, portraits of loved ones. It’s an honor to have people that trust in my artwork off the skin as well. For years I’ve been able to tattoo these loved ones of clients skin and even though the tattoos are permanent, the irony is I’m still a lot more comfortable there than on canvas.  I’ve been painting since I can remember walking but painting for myself and painting for clients are two different sports. Practice will make permanent though so as long as I keep them going I’ll build up the fluidity.

Once again thank you to anyone that has ventured from skin and explored my other mediums of artwork. You’re helping me adapt during these new trying times while staying creative.
